MoMA Ceiling

So It’s Come To This: posted a photo:

MoMA Ceiling

I don’t know what it is about this ceiling I like… I just know I like it. Maybe its the different lines that intersect and the effect the light has on them.

This picture is of the ceiling in one of the areas in the MoMA in New York City. Sadly, I can’t remember where, exactly, I took this picture but I’m willing to go back to the MoMA sometime to find out. There was a great exhibit on photography there and I highly recommend it for all Flickr lovers out there.

Christmas Lights

So It’s Come To This: posted a photo:

Christmas Lights

We still have out tree up. We’ll take it down in a week after we celebrate the "Russian Christmas" that my wife’s family has celebrated for a while.

In their household, Russian Christmas – for her Ukrainian ancestry – is a simple celebration where some 15 people come over and exchange simple one or two dollar gifts; batteries, tape, pencils, paper, etc. are all possibilities. Last year, I have out popcorn bags – not a whole box… just one bag. I’m excited to see what I can come up with for this year.

Anyway… I liked some of the bokeh shots other people took of their trees and tried to do something similar. Since I don’t have any effects or special Photoshop techniques to apply, you’re seeing exactly what I took.

I like it, though.

He Had It Coming

So It’s Come To This: posted a photo:

He Had It Coming

I went to the Guggenheim last night on a staycation in NYC. I had never been there before and was quickly amused when I saw this floating Pinocchio in a pool of water at the base of the ramp.

With all the drinking, smoking, and philandering, I think he had it coming.

On another note, this is one of my first pictures taken in the RAW format for my Nikon. I’ve made it a New Year’s Resolution to only shoot in this format and not JPEG. I’m beginning to see why people like RAW so much. I’m a convert simply because of the different editor in Photoshop & GIMP.
