Here, they highlight a PCRM article from 2007 which shows why some foods are more expensive than others – especially when you would think the opposite would be the case. Looking at the comparison, you would think McDonald’s could lower the cost of a Big Mac by 50 cents just be getting rid of the “healthy” lettuce.
