iPhone Blogging

by Christopher Paul on November 8, 2008

As I type this, I’m enjoying an Earl Grey tea at a Starbucks in Manhattan. I picked up a new iPhone the other day -giving up on 5 or 6 years of using a Blackberry for email and web surfing. It’s been a good transition so far and I don’t regret the decision at all. I’m still getting used to the keyboard but typing right now isn’t too difficult.

The rest of what an iPhone can do has been great and I’m enjoying the apps I’ve downloaded so far. Right now, I have Twitteriffic, WordPress, Facebook, and Pandora; all apps I use on my desktop. I’ll download some games later.

I miss the push email of my blackberry and the simplicity in which it sent emails. But the overall integration of an iPod and phone with email is so good, in a week I’ll wonder how I lived without an iPhone.

Of the features it offers, the wi-fi is one of my favorites. Yes, I know that Blackberries have that too. But having the phone auto switch to my home network to the 3g network is awesome and it really makes the device worth it. Obvously, the iTunes and iPod integration is key, too.

I wish there was a way for someone to connect a Bluetooth keyboard to make it easier to type but, again, I’m sure I’ll get used to the screen keyboard soon enough.

He’ll, I’m just glad I have a phone that works; my Blackberry gave me a SIM Card error everytime I bumped the phone and I’d have to reset the thing. It did that for a year.

Anyway…

Time to finish my tea and get on with my day. Gotta do some shopping while I listen to my music and take a few calls in between stores.

🙂
