I never knew this but astronauts lose their fingernails if they go out on a spacewalk. NASA has a competition to solve the glove’s design flaw that helps cause this but no solution has been successful.

The nails do grow back but they can become deformed. I guess there are some trade-offs for the coolest job in the world.
