The Voice of the NYC Subway

by Christopher Paul on November 18, 2010

The NY Times profiled the woman who’s the voice of the MTA Subway system, Carolyn Hopkins. At 62, she’s voiced announcements for the New York’s, Chicago’s, and Washington’s mass transit systems.

The next time you’re in Charles de Gaulle Airport and hear an announcement in English warning about unattended baggage, it will sound like home; it might as well say there’s a Brookyn-bound express train approaching 14th Street.
