Like Falling Dominos

by Christopher Paul on May 9, 2011

Condé Nast is bringing its print subscriptions to Apple’s iPad; they follow Hearst who announced the same thing last week.

As far as I know, no terms have been released – just the announcements themselves. I really wonder who’s caving to whom, here. Is it Apple with the 30% cut on in app purchases or the magazines who have to convince customers to opt-in to publisher access to personal information.

Without terms being discussed, I wonder if there’s a little bit of give and take on both sides. Personally, I hope the details of each agreement get leaked; it will tell who still has the advantage in this new business model. The pipe or the content.

And whatever the terms, it seems as if the dominos are falling and iPad owners are going to see a lot more print content available to them soon.
