Mother Jones has a great post for Memorial Day. They’ve created a series of graphs showing the ultimate costs of war. From the char above to the somewhat optimistic chart below, they’ve covered everything – including deaths at the hands of pirates. The chart below indicated that, statistically speaking, war appears to be getting safer for us.

I’m sure that doesn’t take away the pain of those who still morn the loss of fallen soldiers but it helps a little when I hear that someone in my family has enlisted or is being shipped off to the Middle East.
