NYC’s New Taxi Is Ugly But Wired

by Christopher Paul on April 4, 2012

New York City announced the Nissan MV200 will replace the hodgepodge of cars, minivans, and light cargo trucks as the official taxi cab of NYC. It will have 10" more flat legroom than the most ubiquitous cab today, the Ford Crown Victoria. It will also have USB ports, a standard outlet, and and a transparent roof. It will also have sliding doors on both sides to help avoid cyclists get hurt if a passenger isn’t paying attention to their surroundings (which happens a lot).

It looks ugly as sin – much more than my favorite today: the Ford Transit Connect. Ford can still sell the Transit Connect until the Nissan version comes out next year, though.
