Are Unlimited Subway Passes a Good Deal?

by Christopher Paul on August 1, 2012

Michael Moyer for Scientific American figures out that buying an unlimited MetroCard isn’t always cost efficient. It all depends on the number of rides you take per week, of course, and he has a break down of how many trips you need to take to make it worth the expense.

I wish they’d do away with the MetroCard altogether and use a card like Endland’s Oyster Card. Most people end up tossing their cards when they’re done and they litter the station floors.
