Instagram Launches Web Profiles

by Christopher Paul on November 5, 2012

Instagram just started launching web profiles to showcase photos taken by users. It looks a lot like Facebook so it isn’t pretty. But before, however, there wasn’t an easy way to view all of someone’s photos outside of the app; it needed to change. Facebook/Instagram just eliminated my need to sent my photos to Tumblr which has been my web profile for Instagram since I started using it.

Of course, there is a small amount of privacy concern since anyone can browse the web profile where as, before, someone had to download and sign in to the app. It would be nice to see a per photo privacy setting on photos but would that be too much to ask for a company owned by Facebook?
