Battery Is The New MHz

by Christopher Paul on June 17, 2013

I was home when Apple had their main WWDC keynote and was elated when I saw the new MacBook Airs; I’m going to pick up one as soon as I can. I was also a little disappointed to see the clock speed slower than the other models but I reserved full judgement for the speed benchmarks. But having sat on it for a few days and seeing the recent battery test results, I’m in agreement with the statement that battery is the new MHz.

When the iPad can do anything a laptop can, speed isn’t so much a factor in buying. It’s trained people to think differently about their purchase and forced them to look at things that actually matter in real life.

Poster Acquired By Automattic

by Christopher Paul on June 15, 2013

Tom Witkin is joining Automattic, the company behind WordPress. It’s a great opportunity for him and I wish him the best.

While it’s disappointing that Poster isn’t around anymore, if there is anyone who’ll gain from this, it’s the entire WordPress community where I expect he’ll make a great impact.
