by Christopher Paul on May 25, 2012 CNET has a story of a guy who lived in AOL’s headquarders) after a startup incubator program he participated in ended. Eventually, he got caught but how he managed the was rather ingenious:
"Having spent several months legitimately working in the building, often quite late, Simons had noticed that although there were security guards with nightly rounds, there were at least three couches that seemed outside those patrols. Plus, they looked fairly comfortable. He claimed them.
This was his routine: He’d work until midnight or later, and then fall asleep around 2 a.m. on one of the couches. At 7 a.m. – and no later than 8 a.m. so he’d be safely out of his field bed before anyone else arrived – he’d wake up, go down to the gym for a workout and a shower, and then go back upstairs and scarf a breakfast of cereal and water or Coke. Then he’d work all day, finally waiting until everyone else in the building had gone home before returning to one of his three favored couches."
I’ve always wondered if that kind of thing could be pulled off. I guess so… for a while.

by Christopher Paul on May 24, 2012 Jason Kottke finds yet another great video. This time, it’s of Ayrton Senna demonstrating the heel-and-toe technique. I’ve used this technique myself (just not on a track). I don’t find it very difficult to pull off so I never really gave it much thought. But if you aren’t a driver (or don’t drive a car with a manual transmission) you’d never know about it.
I almost didn’t watch the video. I’m not posting the video to show how a Formula One racer does it. I’m posting this because of something Jason points out:
You’ll note he’s wearing a button-down shirt, dress pants, Italian loafers, and no helmet while burying the speedometer on his way around the track.
That, I find rather cool.
by Christopher Paul on May 23, 2012 This has to be the best Tumblr ever.
It’s list of movie references found in The Simpsons episodes. I didn’t know there were so many Citizen Kane or It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World references.

Am I the only one that’s a little freaked out by this??
by Christopher Paul on May 21, 2012 Mrs. So It’s Come To This knows I don’t have much of a desire to see movies in the movie theaters. The experience doesn’t have the magic I remember from my youth; perhaps I’ll write about that more, later. I’ll just wait until it comes on iTunes or Netflix and stream it.
But I’ve throughly enjoyed the “reboot” of the James Bond movies and I’m looking forward to seeing the next one. So much so, that I might actually visit a movie theater this year. The next James Bond movie is coming out in it’s usual release month, November, and I just might have to go see it.
