Beer Made From Spruce Pine Is Back!

by Christopher Paul on January 9, 2013

According to The Salt, beer made from spruce trees are coming back in style. They say “back in style” because, apparently spruce was used as a way to ward off scurvy for Nordic travelers. Though there is some doubt as to whether fermented spruce needles have enough Vitamin C (if any), it is thought the pine to be a healthy toothpaste used by Native Americans.

You can brew your own tree (think about that for a minute) or you can order a homebrew kit.
